The 123 Move: Read Learn Lead
123 Move: Read Learn Lead concept is a learning-based program that develops the basic skills of community members through structured lessons of reading, learning and leading. It firstly eradicates illiteracy in the community by teaching individuals to read. Then it develops necessary skills for community members so that they are empowered through knowledge, then taught to apply active steps to economic sustainability. The five focus areas of the Read Learn Lead program are reading; culinary skills; computer skills; basic tradesman’s skills as well as business basics.
The 123 Move: Read Learn Lead concept is designed in such a way that activists with specific educational and developmental skills teach through a structured program of three months.
Goal:
To combat illiteracy and underdevelopment of community members. To partner with teachers, community leaders, skills development programs and individuals that want to empower community members through learning and educational development. To enlist willing candidates to attend a structured program of three months. The full program is a twelve-month program. Once stage one members have completed the stage one course, they will move onto the next consecutive stage/s, until twelve months are complete.
The goal is to introduce 21st century skills and creative skills development methods at each developmental stage. We identify the individual need by engaging on a personal level and through evidence provided by psychological assessment to determine the interests of the community member and slot them into the correct stage that will best suit and develop them.
We will start this program once funded and we aim to commence in January 2022.
